Luizka once pronounced these words while sitting in her self-designed garden in her gorgeous summer residence in the Milanese surroundings on a most beautiful afternoon of late summer. In all her spontaneity and ironic sense of humour, as always surrounded by her dogs, and as always trying to make her guests laugh, forget troubles, and enjoy the moment, she was then surely already planning how to make the autumn and winter months ahead as summery and floreal as possible.

Lou Izka – Like the sun setting into the farther sea, Lou Izka is a marriage of two fundamental ingredients of fashion: passion and quality, which are then able to create the colours of life and make them true to see and to wear!

Haute Couture (or more appropriately: Alta Sartoria)– Our maitres couturiers are all experienced former professionals of the leading Italian luxury brands. They all joined our project inspired by the idea of being able to simply chase beauty and simplicity in the light, floreal, happy and genuine spirit of Lou Izka, making thus our dreams real. All of Lou Izka collections are made of unique and unrepeatable pieces, fully handmade in our laboratory right in the very centre of Milan. There is thus no degree of industrialization, standardization, or chase for numbers involved. We aim for beauty and uniqueness, which is exactly what Lou Izka stands for.

Lifestyle – Everybody wants to be Lou Izka! Being Lou Izka means loving the sea, loving gardens, being at your ease with nature, animals, dogs, country adventures, exploring, dancing and laughing, but most of all enjoying summer, the season when the world gets to live life in full, and which must be chased all year long.

It also means living life as a quest for true beauty, which is not at all linked to things, brands or anything that can be bought or advertised, but rather to the elegance, the fantasy and the uniqueness of your looks, and the laughter of your eyes and that sincere happiness of your soul that is impossible to hide.

about Luizka

Luiza Joanna Sobieska – for friends simply Luizka – was born in Warsaw, the town of Chopin, a town she adores and towards which she’s always been feeling the sort of nostalgy that can only be caught by making one’s heart listen to the music of the great Polish composer. Luizka has got two MA degrees: in Psychology and Italian Literature, besides a Ph.D. in Neuropsychology.

After her studies, she moved to Milan, on her inborn impulse towards chasing the South and the Mediterranean lifestyle. She has been 25 since then, and now for quite a while, even though she is not showing any apparent signs of being otherwise (neither in looks, nor in spirit). She has three children, the youngest of whom just became independent, and she splits her life between her Milan loft and her summer residence of historical value in the Milanese surroundings, moving her most favorite children – that is clearly her dogs! – accordingly to her displacements.

On her natural inclination to chase the sun and the sea, she takes no hesitation in travelling to Sicily, Greece, the French Riviera, or anywhere where she could enjoy a sailboat, some sun and her legendary never-ending swims in transparent warm and salty waters. Off season she enjoys more exhotic destinations, among which her favorite are the French Caribbean.
Luizka has always been passionate about fashion, but much more than this about aesthetics, a concept of beauty, which she believes does not get very well along with prime fashion brands, mass luxury, and industrial production. Her creative, spontaneous and adventurous spirit and her sense of beauty and passion about the uniqueness of things are what is behind the very idea of Lou Izka.

Luizka is not only a mother, a dog lover, a creative and very special character, but she is most of all a fantastic soul and a most loyal friend. Her creation, Lou Izka, is not aiming for customers, as much as for special women who embrace Luizka’s philosophy of life entirely, or who are being inspired by Luizka to finally do so! Women of all ages who want summer never to end, who love elegance, and who, no matter what, aim to keep a young and open minded spirit! Lou Izka is not and never will be a mass brand, while our aim is to keep it as an enlarged family rather than as a corporation.
We do not organize corporate events, nor marketing initiatives of any sort. By becoming our client, Luizka will be extremely happy to meet you in person, get you into her magic life, invite you for an aperitivo in Milan, and to her legendary parties at her Milanese residence, as well as to other intimate events.
